To KinderHealth patients and families:
Due to the on-going Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Kinderhealth has made changes to appointment and office policies. Please note:
1. At this time, we are prioritizing well child (physicals) visits for children 2 years and younger.
i. All sick visits MUST call us prior to attempting to come in
ii. We are offering telemedicine* visits for certain routine follow ups and sick visits
iii. If your child has any respiratory illness, please stay home and call us. We are very available to help direct the care of your child
iv. If you are concerned that your child may have the coronavirus or has been exposed to it, call us and we will be able to direct the care of your child.
KinderHealth does not have the resources to test for Covid-19 at this time. Please note the current guidelines based on CDC recommendations and other expert advise:
a. If a child has a respiratory illness and is not in respiratory distress, the child should be cared for at home with supportive care and observation
b. If a child has dehydration, respiratory distress or has another condition requiring emergency intervention and/or possible admission to the hospital, you may call your primary care provider and/or your closest hospital hotline to be directed to the appropriate centers for care.
c. Please note that the CDC specifies that emergency rooms are NOT a location for COVID-19 testing unless the child is in respiratory distress.
Be assured that KinderHealth is taking every precaution to avoid the spread of illness by making these changes, and by disinfecting our center rigorously to protect the children/families that will need to come in. We will continue to monitor closely and follow the recommendations made by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Maryland Department of Health at this time.
